Some of us wish that we lived in a world without bugs and other creepy critters, but in reality that would be terrible for the ecosystem. These creatures play a role, as annoying as they may be, and so we have to just accept that they’re not going away any time soon.
Having said that, you don’t want certain insects or animals (like rodents) in your home. That’s perfectly understandable. And while you might encounter the occasional unwanted intruder, in many cases it’s just a lone critter and not an overwhelming threat.
But it is definitely possible to experience a pest infestation, and it doesn’t only happen to people with poor housekeeping skills! Keep your eyes peeled for the following signs, and call us right away for professional pest control services if you notice any of them.
An odd smell. Many insects emit an odd smell when they gather in numbers. Roach colonies, for example, smell musty. And of course, rodents or other animals will cause a smell with their nesting and elimination habits. If you smell something “off” in your home, that could be a sign of a pest infestation.
Signs of nesting. Glance around your home, in the hidden areas like corners, cabinets, and in storage areas. If you find webs, egg sacs, or bits of fuzzy material, that is evidence of a nest. Just one insect egg can hatch into hundreds of new pests. And rodents have short reproductive cycles, so they can quickly get out of control, too.
Droppings. It’s the last thing you want to discover around your home, but tiny dark pellets often signify rat or mouse droppings. Roaches and other insects will leave behind something that looks like coffee grounds. You might find these materials behind appliances, deep in cabinets, on the floor of your pantry, and other hidden places.
If you do notice any of these signs of an infestation, don’t even waste time feeling grossed out. Dial us first! We will response with prompt pest control services so that you can feel safe, and less creeped out, in your home.
